Chemical Dependency Services

For those clients who are experiencing problems with alcohol and/or drugs, Avenues offers a variety of chemical dependency services for adolescents and adults. Addictions Psychoeducation Chemical Dependency Assessments Individual Chemical Dependency Counseling Family Counseling Court Referred Asssessments and Counseling Continuing Care for Recovering Individuals Group Counseling Intervention Services DOT Certified SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) Assessments and Treatment A licensed professional specifically trained and certified in chemical dependency assessment and counseling will guide you down a path to healthy living.

Career Services

Career Counseling provides individuals the support and structure needed to develop and implement effective career planning and job search techniques. Career counselors help individuals process decisions and goals as they relate to career directions. Techniques used for career counseling may include various vocational assessments to aid in the identification of career preferences as well as personal strengths and weaknesses as related to occupational environment. In addition, career counselors are likely to encourage various exploratory activities through assignments to assist in the development of individualized plans. A career counselor or coach is a support to an individual planning his/her career needs, experiencing job stress or loss. A career counselor does not diagnose or assume responsibility of an individual’s career choice or behaviors related to planning experiences, but should adhere to the professional code of ethics outlined by their professional association. Groups

Treatment groups can provide you with an opportunity to openly discuss your problems in a supportive, comfortable environment.  The group setting enables you to learn and benefit from the experiences of others.

We offer ongoing, monthly group therapy for children, adolescents and adults.  Here are some of the topics we have covered in group sessions.

Mediation

Mediation is the use of an impartial person to help make informed decisions and to develop mutually acceptable agreements.  The process is inexpensive and empowers people to solve their problems on their own, without expensive legal fees or the involvement of third parties with vested interests.

Confidentiality

Any person seeking psychological help from Avenues of Counseling & Mediation, LLC has the right of privileged communication, which means that your clinical information is confidential except as allowed by the laws of the State of Ohio. Confidential information will only be released after the client or guardian signs the appropriate "Release of Information" form. When you sign your insurance claim form, you are authorizing us to furnish information to the insurance company and are also authorizing your insurance company to look at your records on file if they so choose.

Cost and Insurance

Outpatient counseling services are covered under most health insurance plans.  Participating insurance providers are listed below.  Please check with your insurance company to ascertain the amount of coverage for mental health services, pre-authorizations and co-payments if your health insurance is a managed care plan, and any deductible that must first be satisfied. If your insurance requires a prior authorization, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company prior to the first visit.

Avenues of Counseling & Mediation, LLC accepts health insurance coverage as well as self-payment for counseling services. Payment in full for self-payment clients or insurance co-payment, if applicable, is expected at each visit. There are advantages and disadvantages to using the health insurance option or the self-payment option. Self-pay offers confidentiality, within legal limits. The choice of practitioner, and duration and type of treatment is preserved. No treatment records are released unless you instruct us in writing to do so, or as otherwise required by law. However, a higher out-of-pocket cost is incurred with the self pay option, although this may be tax deductible. Te health insurance option may lower out-of-pocket costs, but it can also provide fewer choices and may provide confidentiality issues for some

Mediation services are not covered by health insurance. Please contact us for current fees for service.

We accept cash, personal checks, and most major credit cards.  We are also equipped to electronically submit insurance claims for you. Payment installment plan requests can be negotiated.
