Rose Scafate, M.Ed, LPCC-S, CDCA
My name is Rose Scafate, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervision Designation (LPCC-S). I earned my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University and have more than 13 years of experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am also a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA), with experience working alongside adolescents and their families who are navigating substance use and addiction-related concerns. Throughout my career, I have worked in both school-based and outpatient settings, helping clients navigate life's challenges with compassion, practical strategies, and evidence-based care.
I believe that every individual has the ability to grow, heal, and build resilience. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client's unique needs. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, strengths-based approaches, and trauma-informed interventions to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthy coping skills, and achieve meaningful, lasting change.
I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, ADHD, school-related challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, grief, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting adolescents struggling with substance use, addiction, and co-occurring mental health concerns. Additionally, I enjoy working with adults facing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, parenting challenges, career transitions, and everyday life stressors. My goal is to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to reach their personal goals.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and being outdoors whenever possible. I believe maintaining balance and engaging in activities that bring joy and connection are important aspects of overall well-being, and I strive to encourage that same balance in the lives of my clients.
