Carrie Kozak-Hietala, MSW, LISW, CCTS-I

Hi, my name is Carrie Kozak-Hietala and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University. I have experience in counseling adults as they work through their individual and unique life experiences.

My approach to therapy is meeting people where they are at and providing a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their feelings, challenges and develop change. In my work I pull from different therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- to help you learn how to change negative thought processes, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy- to increase emotional regulation skills and coping skills, Mindfulness- to help you stay present, and trauma informed care-to help you process and accept past life events.

In addition to working with a variety of different mental health concerns, I also enjoy working with women and men who are experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, post-partum depression/anxiety, in recovery, dealing with traumatic life events and people navigating situational stressors and life changes. I have a certification in being a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist for individuals and have EMDR training and experience. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my husband, 3 daughters, and 2 dogs going for walks, watching movies, or going and doing fun stuff with friends.
