Jacklyn Fairchild, MS, LPCC
My name is Jacklyn “Jackie” Fairchild, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I have experience counseling adolescents ages 15 and older and adults experiencing anxiety, panic, depression, ADHD, social anxiety, OCD, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, life transitions, anger, and other emotional and behavioral concerns. I also provide affirming support to LGBTQ+ and transgender clients, as well as individuals exploring concerns related to sexual orientation and identity. I also enjoy working with women who are navigating a range of concerns that uniquely impact them, including life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem and confidence, identity development, parenting and family challenges, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you better understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I help clients recognize unhelpful or negative thought patterns, understand how those patterns may be affecting their emotions and choices, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding. Together, we identify realistic strategies and coping skills that can be used outside of therapy to help you feel more confident navigating challenges in your everyday life.
In addition to working with people with a variety of mental health concerns, I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety. I have advanced interest and experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an approach that helps clients identify and change patterns of thinking and behavior that may contribute to anxiety, stress, and other emotional difficulties. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to help clients develop the practical skills they can use to regulate their emotions, increase self-awareness, respond effectively to challenges, and tolerate distress when needed. I enjoy helping clients develop useful tools to manage overwhelming thoughts, reduce anxiety, and feel more in control of how they respond to difficult situations.
I believe that counseling should be a place where you feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about what you're experiencing. I strive to create a relaxed, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where we can work together toward the changes that are most important to you.
