Taylor Sowell, MSW, LSW, CDCA

My name is Taylor and I am a dual-licensed LSW and CDCA. I have a Masters of Social Work from Akron University. I have experience in counseling men, women, and adolescents for both addiction and trauma
recovery services. My approach to therapy is an innovative blend of both Solution-Focused and Depth Psychology—meaning you bring your struggles, and I’ll bring a ‘you-centered’ perspective that validates,
educates, and gives clarity on options that can help you move forward.

In addition to working with a variety of mental health concerns, I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, relationship and family stress, social anxiety, OCD, and self-esteem concerns. I also work with children and teens using developmentally appropriate approaches, including play-based techniques, and support parents in building effective strategies to better understand and respond to their child’s needs.

While I have a strong interest in trauma-informed care, grief and loss, and addictions (including process addictions such as gambling, shopping, or compulsive behaviors), I enjoy working with a diverse population of clients across many different concerns. I also have experience incorporating cultural awareness and spirituality into sessions when it is important to the client, and I can provide Christian-focused counseling upon request.

I am down-to-earth, and will structure our sessions towards who you are, where you are in your journey, and what feels comfortable to start with. I look forward to supporting you in your growth!
